A wedge is something that serves to part, split, or divide.

In the game of football, the wedge is a type of player formation used by the receiving team in a kick-off to carry the ball as far down the field as possible. The kicking-off team must break through the wedge formation as quickly and effectively as possible to down the receiver of the football. Any failure in stopping the receiver early will give the receiving team more opportunity and probability in scoring via a touchdown and/or a field goal.

In our spiritual life, a similar wedge formation is used against us. When we humans sin, we essentially are kicking-off to an opposing team and giving them the opportunity and authority to score in our lives. Though, their victory is our demise. We as believers in Jesus, our God, must break these wedge formations that come against us daily by abstaining from sin. This is almost impossible on an individual basis. Yet all things, including righteousness, are possible with the Lord and with two or more gathered together in His name we may cleanse ourselves and obtain victory over our opponent and death.

We as the body of Christ, Jesus, must come together to discern good from bad and be our brother’s keeper. Together our words will be those of our Lord’s, our hands will heal the sick and the lame, and our arms will reach those who are down and lift them up. As a family we are strong and the enemy cannot thwart our divine, Holy Spirit inspired plans.

What are you afraid of? Join the fight and break the wedge in your life! Do not let the enemy, Satan, divide us and break into your field. Resist them in every area of your life and everyone's around you by using your God given strengths. Just as you are commanded to love the Lord with all of your heart and mind also resist the enemy in the same way. Stand up for the Lord and he will lift you up in victory! Your victory is the body’s victory and Heaven's joy.

Did you feel, feel it break from all the weight of your mistake? You never knew how much it cost. Feels like your innocence is lost. So much for the perfect life. So much for the perfect day. It's like no matter how you try perfection's just too far away. So lift them up to me. All the broken pieces. All the broken pieces of your life. Did you hear what I said? Did you read the words I wrote down in red?
